Well everyone, this is our last post from China. As I type this, Lizzie is sacked out and Jeff is busily packing and trying to figure out how on earth we can get all our stuff into our bags. Our belongings seemed to have mulitplied by 10. In 26 hours we will be home with our little family all together and we can't wait. We have to have our bags packed and in the hallway tomorrow by 5:00 am. We then take a 6:00 am bus with most of our group and our guide to the airport where we will jump on a short flight to Hong Kong. We will have a little time in the Hong Kong Airport and then catch our flight to SFO. By the time we arrive we will have been traveling 19 hours....with a one year old. It will be 11:42 pm China time, but 8:42 am CA time and we will be starting Thursday, April 6 all over again. Should be interesting. Wish us luck!
Today, Jeff and I hit a four story toy market which Jeff thought was great and I thought was the equivalent of a four story flea market/disco and a headache just waiting to happen. We had lunch and then headed over to the US consulate with about 49 other families to have our passport pictures verified and to take an oath promising all our paperwork was true and accurate to the best of our knowledge and this means that Lizzie becomes a US citizen as soon as we clear customs in SFO. And it only took an hour and half of waiting in a non air conditioned room with fifty families. But everyone clapped and cheered when we were done so spirits ended high. We went out for our final dinner with our travel group. It was bittersweet to say goodbye to so many people that now feel like old friends. We have gone through so much with this group in such a short amount of time, it really makes for an unique bond. But at the same time that everyone feels a little sad to say goodbye and to seperate the Huangmei "sisters" everyone is also very anxious to get home to their lives and families that they miss so much.
We can't wait to see all our CA family and friends, especially our two little cutie patootie boys waiting for us. Thank you all to everyone for all of your support. We feel so blessed to be surrounded by such wonderful love. We would also very much like to acknowledge Lizzie's birth parents that I am sure live with the pain of giving her up every day. We wish there was some way that they could know that their beautiful, delightful, amazing little girl is now part of a family that loves her unconditionally and will do everything they can to ensure she has a happy, healthy life.

Safe travels guys! Hope the flights are smooth and easy tomorrow. And in less than 24 hours you'll be hugging your boys and introducing them to their new sister. Wow!

What is it with the consulate? EVERY other building in China is freezing, but no A/C at the U.S. Consulate??? and we were there in August, so you can just inmagine! Good luck on the trip home, it will be fine!
