Cooper turned 12!!
The older he gets, the less of a production gets put on for his birthday.
He picked The Old Spaghetti Factory for dinner.
He opened his presents from his family.
He was allowed unlimited screen time all day.
He. was. thrilled.
Saturday, June 18th, we continued our Birthday Donut tradition.
Cooper opted for a plain glazed donut.
Later that afternoon, I took Cooper and his best friend Sam to his choice of lunch (In-n-Out Burger) and movie (Green Lantern).
We ended the day with a visit from Nana and Granddaddy.
They came over for homemade ice-cream.
It was made by me! Are you impressed? Well, I was.
Peppermint ice cream and more presents.
All in all it was a great way to turn 12.

Twelve Things About Cooper
1. Cooper has worked SO HARD this year. He earned straight A's all four quarters.
2. He is awesome (he suggested #2)
3. He is funny, really funny. His quick wit is really entertaining.
4. His Math & Science teacher sent us an email explaining what an exceptional child she believes Cooper to be. She said he leads by example and action rather than words. Parents love to get emails like that.
5. Cooper made new friends this year and it was amazing to watch him get comfortable in his own skin in middle school.
6. Cooper is one motivated kid. Over the summer he wants to take saxophone lessons and is just about to finish referee class (21 hours) as he hopes to earn some money this fall.
7. Cooper is really fun to talk with, he likes to read Newsweek, National Geographic, and the newspaper and discuss current events.
8. Cooper is a wonderful big brother to both his siblings.
9. Cooper still is a voracious reader. I think this will be life long passion.
10. He also loves his video games. He just can't stand the thought of not mastering "the next level".
11. He has a great smile, and still has those dimples we have loved since he was a baby.
12. He had a core teacher this year (3 periods) that was tough. Really tough. Jeff and I were so proud of how hard he worked, but also how adaptable he showed himself to be. He showed exceptional coping skills. We know these skills will serve him well in life.
