What a day! We started the day at about 4:00 am. We couldn't sleep any later. Breakfast opened at 6:30 am and we were one of the first people to eat. At 9:00 am we joined our group for our tours.
First stop was Tiananmen Square which is the largest square in the world. Next was the Forbidden City which was just beautiful and so amazing. We couldn't believe the architecture. But after walking about two hours everyone was ready for lunch.
After lunch we all enjoyed rickshaw rides through the Hutong neighborhood which is a traditional Chinese neighborhood. We got to tour a Kindergarten and a traditional home. Mrs. Jung warmly greeted our whole group into her home and showed everyone around.
Finally, we ended the tour with an acrobatic show which was very cool. Unfortunately it was at the end of the day and dark and cozy inside the theatre. Our whole group has jet lag. Jeff and I managed to stay awake through the show, but we were some of the only ones. After dinner with some new friens from our group we are now back in our hotel room. Jeff is already snoring in bed as I type this. We are so beyond tired it is hard to describe. Hopefully, we will sleep better tonight so we will be up for the Great Wall tomorrow.
Cooper and Nate, we love you so much! Nana and Grandddaddy emailed us and said they are having so much fun with you. We are so glad!
We can't access our blog in Beijing so we can't read the comments yet. But please keep them coming. We will enjoy reading them later. Also remember to click on the Rickshaw picture to see the photo stream of today's pictures.
Love, Rhonda and Jeff
