In 4th Grade one of the first big events is the California Passport Project. This is a written and oral report about how your family migrated to California. Cooper chose to write about my parents moving here from Florida in 1966. We've worked for a month on the writing of the report and the gathering of artifacts to show to the class. 99% of the accumulation of items to share in the oral report was done by my parents. Today was Coop's presentation. Here's a picture of him wearing my Dad's safety hat and glasses from his time at Chrysler Space Industries at Cape Canaverel(sp?) which is now NASA at Cape Kennedy. He brought in a picture of the car my parents drove as they "migrated" to California, a picture of them as young newlyweds in front of the Saturn V, an illustrated map of the route they took, shells from Florida, and of course we shared Florida orange juice with the class. My mom even had a quilt that her grandmother made that Cooper could show his class. Coop was a hit. Thanks Nana and Granddaddy for all the help on his project!
