Happy Birthday Cooper! We spent our first three days of summer celebrating. Cooper's last day of school was Friday. He is now a second grader! Yikes...how did that happen? We went out to lunch, ice cream and dinner! And Saturday, Sunday and Monday were all party days too.
Saturday, we drove up to my in-laws for a girls only Welcome Luncheon for Lizzie thrown by Lizzie's Great Aunt Marta. There were about 22 wonderful women there to see Lizzie and meet her for the first time. It was a beautiful luncheon with chinese food, and lots of presents for Miss Lizzie. Jeff and his dad, uncle, grandfather, a couple of cousins and a good friend all spent the afternoon swimming at his folks' (a.k.a. Grandma and Grandpa) house with the boys. Then Saturday night was a BBQ/ Pool Party at Grandma and Grandpa's . There were about 24 family and friends to help us celebrate Cooper's birthday. He received lots of wonderful presents too.
Sunday morning we got up and had a nice brunch with family (15 people this time) to celebrate Father's Day. After spending most of the day swimming and lounging by the pool, we headed home in the late afternoon.
Monday afternoon was Cooper's "Friend" party at Pump It Up which is a warehouse filled with giant jumpy structures for the kids. There were 25 kids and they all had a blast. Happy Birthday Cooper!
By Monday afternoon, Lizzzie was just DONE being social. All the new places and people had overwhelmed her and she was in "Barnacle Mode". She didn't want to be put down, didn't want anyone but Mom. She had been like this most of the weekend too, but by Monday she was completely overwhelmed. So needless to say we are spending the next couple of days hanging out at home and laying low.
It was a wonderful few days though. We are so blessed to have such special family and friends that want to celebrate our kids with us!
