The Official "Mailing" of the Santa Letter

Tuesday Nate's Kindergarten Class went on a "walking" field trip to the local coffee shop and mailbox. Each child mailed their handwritten Santa letter to the North Pole. Then they headed into the coffee shop for complimentary cocoa. Santa Claus even made an appearance and each child was able to sit with him, tell him what they wanted for Christmas, and receive a candy cane from the Big Man himself. Nate didn't waste his opportunity this time and knew exactly what he wanted to ask for.

When Cooper mailed his letter three years ago, it was literally just a letter drop at the mailbox. Since it was raining I didn't bring my camera. Imagine my dismay when the rain cleared up, Santa showed up, and the kids sang Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer to him! Cooper's kindergarten teacher saw my facial expression and sheepishly said, "Yep, this field trip has definitely improved. Cooper was robbed." I'll say! Luckily for me another mom took a couple of shots of Nate for prosperity.
